Prof. Thomas Münzel

Title: Envrionmental stressors and cardiovascular health
Professor Thomas Münzel is a cardiovascular scientist and internationally recognized authority in vascular biology and environmental cardiology. He served for over two decades as Chair of Cardiology at the University Medical Center Mainz (UMCM), Johannes Gutenberg University, and since 2023 holds a Senior Professorship dedicated to environment and cardiovascular health.

His research has fundamentally advanced the understanding of endothelial dysfunction as a central mechanism driving cardiovascular disease, integrating preclinical and clinical models with direct translational relevance. In recent years, he has been at the forefront of a paradigm shift, demonstrating that environmental stressors—including transportation noise, air pollution, chemicals, and urban exposures, are major, yet underrecognized, cardiovascular risk factors.

Professor Münzel is the founder of the Gutenberg Health Study (GHS), one of Germany’s largest population-based cohorts, and the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH), a leading interdisciplinary research hub. He is a key investigator within the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research.

With more than 1,300 publications and a Google Scholar H-index of 168, he ranks among the world’s most highly cited researchers and is a driving force shaping global cardiovascular prevention strategies in the context of environmental health.
Dr. Eugen Strehle
Newcastle University, UK
Title: Learning from the death of a child
Dr Strehle was born in Freiburg im Breisgau and raised in Munich. After the Abitur he went to Medical School in Bochum and Munich. He passed his State Exam in 1990 and his MD Exam in 1993 before emigrating to England. There he trained as a Paediatrician in Birmingham, Manchester and London. He also obtained Master Degrees in Paediatrics, Crystallography and Genomic Medicine, and a Diploma in Developmental Paediatrics. He is an Honorary Lecturer at Newcastle and Sunderland Universities. Currently he works as a Consultant at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Northeast England. He has over 70 publications in medical journals and books with an h-index of 17 (see Google Scholar). In his spare time he enjoys travelling to Spain.
Prof. Murat Kirişci
Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Turkey
Title: Disc Fermatean Fuzzy Decision-Making Algorithm for Analysis of Balancing Work-Life Challenges in Surgery.
Dr. Murat Kirişci is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, Cerrahpaşa Medicine Faculty at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Erciyes University. His research has focused on the Matrix domain, statistical convergence, fixed-point theory, decision-making, fuzzy sets and systems, fuzzy logic, risk analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent systems, and optimization. He has contributed research papers to reputable journals and served as a reviewer for various scientific journals. In a Stanford University and Elsevier study, he was included in the list of "The World's Most Influential Scientists" for three consecutive years.
Dr. Georg Bollig

Associate Professor PD Dr. med. Georg Bollig, PhD, MAS (Palliative Care), DEAA is a physician, researcher and social entrepreneur

After medical studies at the universities of Cologne, Vienna and Seattle he became a specialist in anaesthesiology, pain therapy and palliative care. He received a Master degree in Palliative Care and Organisational Ethics from the University Klagenfurt/IFF Vienna. His PhD at the University of Bergen, Norway was about Palliative Care, ethical challenges and end-of-life decision-making in nursing homes. From 2016 to 2022 he has been working as senior consultant in Palliative Medicine at the University hospital of Southern Jutland and as Clinical Associate Professor in Palliative Care at the University of Southern Denmark. Currently he works as senior consultant in Palliative Medicine and head of Palliative Medicine at the Academic teaching hospital Helios Klinikum Schleswig in Germany. In addition to his clinical work Georg is Associate Professor in Palliative Medicine at the Department of Palliative Medicine, University of Cologne, Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital, Cologne, Germany. Georg has first published the idea of a Last Aid Course and is the leader of the International Last Aid working group and the Last Aid research Group International (LARGI). His main current research interests are public palliative care education (PPCE), Last Aid Courses and telepalliative care. He has received a number of recognitions and awards for his work with Last Aid Courses, e.g. prizes of the German Association for Palliative Medicine and the Order of Merit of Schleswig-Holstein.
Prof. Mohammad Amjad Kamal

Title: From Enzymomics to Integrative Nursing and Healthcare: Exploring Bioelectric Meridian Therapy and MLD
Prof. Mohammad Amjad Kamal is a renowned biochemist with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He has held prestigious positions at various universities. His research primarily centers around neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease. He has made significant contributions to the development of novel anti-Alzheimer's agents, collaborating extensively with Dr. Nigel H. Greig.
Prof. Kamal has an impressive publication record, with over 750 research articles in internationally recognized journals and numerous conference abstracts. His work has significantly impacted the field of biochemistry and the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. He has been recognized by Clarivate as a top 1% highly cited researcher (in last 3 consecutive years) globally (*).
Dr. Gary Souter
De Montfort University, UK
Title: Nursing Leadership in a VUCA world’
Dr Gary Souter is the Head of The Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. He is responsible for the strategic leadership of the school including pre-registration and post-registration nursing and midwifery programmes. He is a registered mental health nurse with a clinical background of working with male personality disorder offenders in a high secure hospital. He has a PhD in Nursing from Manchester Metropolitan University, and his thesis is entitled ‘Applying The Silences Framework to explore the mental health of professional footballers’. His research interests involve football and mental health, and he has a book due out in 2027 entitled ‘Football Psychology: Contemporary issues in the men’s game’.
He has been the Chair of a regional Council of Deans of Health group and is a member of the Council of Deans inaugural ‘Emerging Deans Leadership programme’. He has also completed a Senior Leadership Apprenticeship with the Chartered Management Institute.
